We found it hard to believe that this spot is a county park in the midst of all the COE campgrounds but it’s almost a thousand acres on the shore of Strom Thurmond Lake, the third largest man-made lake east of the Mississippi River. As most projects of this size, it is used for hydroelectric power generation. I’m sure it would be a zoo during a bass tournament.
Facilities were well kept and clean; minimally warm water at best in the push-button showers.
