This pretty little campground has reasonably spaced sites, but there is little privacy. The campground is heavily treed but lacks understory plants. It was about half full during our stay, and we didn’t feel crowded. Most sites are short and many are wildly out of level. There is a bath house, but we didn’t use it. Verizon and AT&T service both were good.
The park itself is nice for hiking, with several well maintained trails around and between the lakes. There are about a half dozen geocaches along the trails, placed by VA State Parks. There’s also a nice beach and boat rentals as well.
It took a few days for the boys to relax and get into their regular routine.
Most services are 20-25 minutes away in Farmville, so bring what you’ll need.
Masks all over the place on adults and children, staff and campers.
