Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

posted in: Campgrounds 0

Given the damage we had seen from Michael in October, we weren’t quite sure whether to stop in the panhandle or wait until the spring. After much discussion, we decided on a few days at Topsail. The tree damage along I-10 from Tallahassee to Defuniak Springs was quite severe and many, many crews were still cleaning up. We were surprised to see that Topsail didn’t get hit very hard even though it is only sixty miles west of Mexico Beach where the storm came in.

We got in a laundry stop and a chilly walk to the beach but that’s all weather permitted. Below, the boys enjoy a treat from their uncle Greg and Aunt Carol.
