Small Country Campground, Louisa, Virginia

A few miles off the highway, this campground is quiet (at least in December) and off the beaten path on the shore of Lake Ruth Ann. There seemed to be a significant number of full-timers and those passing through for an over night were assigned sites mixed right in. Not always a good idea. Our neighbors were using our post for extra power so we asked for another site. Not a big deal but worth mentioning.

The campground is much bigger than a first impression might give and there were lots of activities for everyone like the lake, pool and miniature golf (none of which were available but it is December).

In our section it was difficult to find a level site but we managed for one night. Bathrooms were a bit dated but extremely clean. Overall, it was a much better alternative than our previous stop in the area.
