Shady Acres Campground, Carver, Massachusetts

Shady Acres, conveniently located to the I-495 loop around Boston, Rt 3 to Cape Cod and I-195 from Providence on the edge of the Myles Standish State Forest. It is a rather large campground with mostly seasonals and just a few spots in front for overnighters. Sites are a rather crowded and neighbors are very close. A smokey fire on a hot night would be almost unbearable.

Bathrooms were extremely clean and looked newly remodeled. Plenty of hot water although the overnight temperature was around 70 degrees made it less of a necessity. The only downside worth mentioning is the sand. All internal roads are sand and it is impossible to walk around without carrying it into the bathrooms and your vehicle.

With temps in the mid 90’s upon our arrival, all we wanted to do was settle in with a little A/C. Unfortunately, our power manager kicked off within 30 seconds due to low voltage (only 104V). We asked for and received assistance when our 30A service was moved to a different circuit less than five minutes later, no questions asked.
