North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

After a grocery stop in Fort Stockton, we came upon Paisano Pete. When built in 1980, Pete was declared the world’s largest roadrunner at eleven feet tall and twenty-two feet long. In 1983, however, Pete lost the title to one about twice his size at an I-10 rest area in Las Cruces, New Mexico. We passed him, too but some times you just aren’t able to capture those Kodak moments.

We had hoped to stop at South Llano River State Park but they were full as was our backup location. We were happy to find another spot in Junction. Yet another former KOA. Nice layout along the river although there wasn’t much river. Not much to the town of Junction but we took a short walk around.

Check in was quick. Park seemed tired in in need of some TLC. Creative plumbing. Verizon and AT&T service were very spotty.
