We avoid I-10 from Florida through central Texas when we can and this year we decided on US-98 for much of the trip west. That brought us to our last stop before Texas in Natchez. This is our third visit and probably our wettest but we had a nice level site overlooking the lake. We timed our days to be far enough north to avoid the worst of the rain that was forecast for the Houston area but it was still a very damp day on the road.
The entire park was covered in oak leaves; haven’t decided if that was a plus or a minus. Water in the showers wasn’t very warm but the bathrooms were clean. Come into the park from the north entrance and avoid the long lonely trip from the south.
The Mississippi looked cold and dreary. The view below is looking north heading west across the bridge to Vidalia, LA.
