Mayflower County Park, Blythe, California

Bob wanted to see Quartzite, Arizona, where huge numbers of RV’ers gather for the winter and camp on public lands in the desert. As we approached, we could see huge patches of white in the desert. These were clumps of campers. We drove through the middle of town, which consisted of flea markets, RV dealer lots full of inventory, repair shops, a few small shops such as book stores, and a couple of sketchy restaurants. We kept on going!

The nearest spot to camp was in Blythe, California. We probably wouldn’t return to this campground. The electric was questionable and the campground itself was a large dirt field with lumpy tracks for driving. Nice showers, though!

Bob was happy because he got to color in California on his state map. Deb was happy because we didn’t camp in Quartzite. The next morning, we headed back to Arizona.
