Only a quick visit to the keys this time. We did get a chance to take a breath and rest a few days, though. Temperatures were in the 80’s and the weather was spectacular. As always, it was great to see family. On Monday we went on a nice bike ride (into the sun with a tailwind and into the wind with the sun on our backs. Good eats and good company!

Our stop in Marathon this year seemed to be centered on the wildlife. Not to be excluded from the story, our own resident wildlife enjoyed a few days outside the RV.
We topped off our first full day at Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters where we got into a tank full of stingrays. What a blast! Perhaps the most friendly was Daisy, the spotted eagle ray.
Another high point was The Turtle Hospital where we were introduced to a number of rescues. Many of the turtles at the hospital have Fibropapillomatosis or FP which causes benign tumors. In most cases, the tumors can be removed and the turtles can be released.
Others come to the hospital under different circumstances. This one lost a flipper and some of his shell to a shark.
