Bellamy Mansion is said to be the best example of antebellum architecture in town. Completed just before the Civil War, it was built for John Dillard Bellamy, a physician and his wife, Eliza McIlhenny Harriss. The home was beautifully decorated for Christmas, inside and out. We made a quick stop at the Railroad Museum and then down the Riverwalk for lunch on the terrace at the Pilot House while watching the crowds and traffic on the Cape Fear River.
Finally, we have some sunshine, just in time for Christmas. Temperatures are in the 50s but at least we have sunshine. Christmas dinner: crab cakes, chicken saltimbocca, green beans and farro. We even have our own LED Christmas tree with a USB port so we can have music and blinking lights.
