After being on the road for far too long, we needed a place to stop. Somehow, we got the only site with no picnic table. We should have taken that as a signal. We didn’t. The campground was a dirt lot. We were warned in the office that there would be noise from trains and “roaring lions.” Yeah, that’s what we thought, too. There’s a wild animal park next door.

Bathroooms were in horrible shape. There were holes in the questionable plywood floor and one curtain for two showers. We could only connect to the Wi-Fi early in the morning. No cell service without booster.
