We had been thinking about a stop in Benson for a couple years so we continued the state park trend. There was space at Kartchner Caverns so the choice was made. Another jewel in the Arizona park system. Beautiful campground with fairly new facilities. There’s a short trail to the first-class visitors center. Groceries and other supplies up the road in Benson.
Since most of our clothes and shoes have been in mines and caves, we didn’t do the cave tour.
We had a great lunch at The Cafe in Sonoita and then stopped at a few wineries in Sonoita and Elgin on the way back.
