Harrison Bay State Park, Harrison, Tennessee

The park is a bit out of the way if it is your destination. If you’re just staying one night and you’re going north or south, the park is really quite convenient. Either way, you can take in some of Chattanooga. The park has four sections but only one was open. Section A was redone several years ago and sites were leveled and new private bathrooms were built. The results of both actions were quite nice.

On our first visit in 2015 the park had amazingly fast Wi-Fi as part of Chattanooga’s Gig City project. Sadly, Gigabit internet seems to be gone and Tengo Internet is now the vendor and the service is typical of their offerings we’ve found elsewhere. Poor service and support. Data usage was limited but you could purchase more if you wanted/needed it.

The Chattanooga area is home to quite a few railroad related attractions, the closest being the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum and Repair Shop. We had a long day ahead of us so that didn’t work out but we’ll try to stop in on our next time through.
