Palm Springs is a bustling town in the middle of the desert. It is famous for its mid century modern architecture and as a haunt of 50’s movie stars. We strolled through the downtown, window shopping and people watching.
The RV park is actually downtown, very convenient. The sites are very small but completely private due to thick oleander hedges on both sides. They managed to squeeze in a nice deck with a pool and hot tub. The only downfall is that their electrical system can’t cope with a full house. Our power dropped out all night long at 101 volts.
On Saturday we went to the Air Museum where the day was highlighted by the T-34 Mentor Fly In. The T-34 was used by the Air Force and the Navy as a basic trainer during the 1950s. Other museum pieces flying were a P51 Mustang and a C-47 Dakota+.
Entering and leaving Palm Springs, we saw an amazing collection of wind turbines. The canyons around town are famous for the high winds, and warning road signs abound.
