Grayton Beach State Park, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

We spent several days here. On Monday we joined our buddies Tom and Diane for dinner in Panama City Beach. We first met them at a B Rally, and this was a nice reunion.

We got a beautiful site, heavily screened by trees and with a view out the back of Western Lake. We could have done without the Beware of Alligators sign!

Weather was sunny with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. On Wednesday we walked the beach and saw a few fishermen and other walkers, despite the brisk wind.

Thursday we walked the beach to Seaside, a planned community built in the early 80s. We had lunch at Great Southern (wonderful Gouda grits!) and strolled through the town. A row of Airstream food trucks sat in front of the town square, but we were too full to even look at the menus!

We admired the beach architecture, pastel colors, and the white picket fences surrounding the houses. Every fence on a street is a unique design.

After strolling through town, we returned on the bike path, which has nice views of Western Lake.

This part of Florida has lots of longleaf pines. Their needles are amazing.
