Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Enchanted Trails used to be a trading post on Route 66 on the mesa west of Albuquerque. The office is full of what might best be described as Route 66 memorabilia. Great stuff! And it doesn’t end there. There’s a few restored trailers for rent just in case you didn’t bring your own. Nice staff. You can walk right into the Camping World lot next door if you need something. Great location. Can’t get much more convenient to see the sights. All the necessities are within a few miles. Driving into town provides a great view of the city from above.

Indian Pueblo Cultural Center

The Pueblo tribes run this museum, which provides a nice overview of their culture and showcases some stunning art. We particularly enjoyed a case displaying animal fetishes and the pottery. Yes, there is a bird theme in our photo choices. One room held pottery of storyteller animals. Coordinating video clips told  stories associated with several of the exhibits.

The museum also has a cafe specializing in local food with an upscale presentation. The smells were wonderful, but it was too early for us to have lunch.

Albuquerque Museum

This museum has some galleries of art and some of historical artifacts. We went for the history: a nice overview of Albuquerque from its founding to the present day.
