Ebenezer Park, Rock Hill, South Carolina

Ebenezer Park is maintained by York County, South Carolina. All Sites are full-hookup. Sites are split about evenly between well shaded and with no view of Lake Wylie and wide open with a lake view. We chose trees and remaining fall colors.

We almost made it to 65 degrees on Wednesday but we didn’t get the opportunity to get out and enjoy the best part of the day. Thanks to some handy traffic monitoring technology, the busiest travel day of the year was made a bit less hectic by taking some back roads and missing the experience of I-77 and I-85 back-ups of up to 35 minutes.

We ate our thanksgiving meal at Buca di Beppo in Pineville. It was our first time and we really had no idea what to expect. Family-style dining (no single servings). Food was good. We’ve got leftovers in the freezer! In an attempt to walk off at least part of the meal, we spent more than an hour at Glencairn Gardens in Rock Hill.

Campground was booked but didn’t feel at all crowded. Great location on a pretty lake. Close enough to Charlotte but far enough outside the loop to be away from the holiday crowds. On some sites, level is in the eyes of the beholder. Bring your blocks. Good cell service. TV reception was ok but not great.

Staff asked for suggestions to make the stay better. Here’s three: (1) No smoking in the bathrooms; (2) Bathrooms need a fan; (3) Splurge a little and use a whole shower curtin.
