This out of the way park is a gem of the Texas state park system. The only downside is an almost complete lack of cell signal.
The park has hiking trails, bird blinds, and a beautiful lodge originally built by the CCC. We did some hiking and stopped by the lodge to check out the original part of the building.
On our way back to the campground, we crossed paths with a group of mule deer. They stared at us and showed no interest in moving away.
