This is a tiny little park (only 35 acres) and the campground has only 25 sites but the location and surroundings can’t be beat. For paddlers, the park and campground is the first in a series of three that provides easy access to 23 miles of the Edisto River. For travelers, the park is only two miles off I-95 and US-15 is adjacent to the park. We had a site on the opposite end of the campground and had no noise at all. Ranger Larry was very helpful and quite a hoot to talk to. Very easy to tell he loves what he does.

There was still obvious damage from hurricanes Matthew and Irma but the campground and day use areas were well cared for. Bathrooms were dated but spotless. Cell signal was good for Verizon and a bit less so for AT&T. Not much available in the way of OTA TV stations. Tree cover would make getting a satellite signal a challenge.

Much of our time here was spent diagnosing our plumbing leak and searching for parts to make a fix.
