Stuck in Paradise!

Catalina State Park is our happy place. We were at the end of a wonderfully relaxing 2 week stay when the rains came. The lower elevations got some water (Oro Valley: 1.06 inches), but the mountains were inundated. Nearby Mount Lemmon got 6.56 inches of rain.

The National Weather Service posted a flood warning. Many roads that crossed washes were underwater, including the road into the park. Some of the hiking trails in the park were inaccessible because they crossed Sutherland wash, which also passes through the park. We enjoyed walking, watching the water and the cleanup efforts.

The white pickup truck below is about 200 yards away on the other side of the wash.
