When we checked in at Lake Pleasant north of Phoenix, we were told to keep an eye out for the wild burros. Here at Caprock Canyons they also had a warning about the wildlife freely roaming the park; try to keep at least fifty yards away from the bison. We didn’t see any in the campground but there was plenty of evidence that they were around.
