Cajun Palms is a just a short ways off I-10 but it will feel like miles because of the road conditions. The good news is that once inside the fence, smoothness prevails and you can return to drinking your coffee/cocoa without fear of spillage. There is more concrete here that most small-town airports but everyone has a pull-thru and everything is level and spotlessly clean. Hot showers and you can get local fresh or cooked seafood delivered to your site or they will come and pick you up via golf cart.
There are more than 360 sites here and directions are hard to come by and signage seems hard to come by, too. This makes for some extra and long loops until you can get your bearings. No free Wi-Fi and the paid service was rather steep, especially if you’re going to use it for multiple days. We didn’t.
That being said, this is a great base for visiting Lafayette, Breaux Bridge, etc.
