Buckskin Mountain State Park is located at a bend in the Colorado River downstream of Lake Havasu. It’s a very quiet and scenic location. The campground has lots of trees, and the view to the hills across the river is beautiful.
The park has several hiking trails and a small desert garden complete with a desert tortoise. When we walked through, the tortoise was hidden in his underground burrow.
This is a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy nature. We’ve stopped at several parks between Lake Havasu City and Parker, and so far this is our favorite.
