One side stop to report here is the new and beautiful Elk Country Visitors Center in Benezette. It’s a great place to learn not only about Pennsylvania’s elk herd but also environmental and wildlife stewardship in general.
Fall is the best time of year to see elk. Unless you know somebody from the area, you’ll still have to find a spot at one of the Winslow Hill Road viewing areas from dusk till dawn to have the best chance to see them.
