We walked around the campground upon arrival. We both needed to move after a long drive. We thought we’d escaped the wind this time but that only lasted for one day. We saw some of the longhorns on the way in but no bison. Another long walk to the showers but plenty of hot water once there.
This visit to San Angelo was mainly utilitarian; we had groceries to buy, laundry to do, defrost the fridge, visit Miss Hattie’s. As we finished lunch our waiter asks if we saved room for desert. We don’t normally eat a big lunch and we hardly ever have desert. The waiter says “We have baklava, cheesecake…” and then a few other things. Bob says , “Was there a comma between baklava and cheesecake?” The waiter smiles and says, “No, there wasn’t.” The evidence can be seen below. Absolutely delicious!
We still enjoyed walking around downtown and another exteneded trip to Eggemeyer’s General Store.
We didn’t buy anything but thoroughly enjoyed looking. We had intended to do more walking but birdcage rattling wind kept us inside. This is beginning to be a habit. Sunsets, too.
