We had a much better site on this visit (loop 5) with a water view. Brand new cabins and a marina update. The park wasn’t nearly as crowded as we expected given that it is the week of July 4th. No bathhouse updates but still in good shape. No OTA TV but good cell service.
Another quick wine run to the Finger Lakes. Today’s first stop was Dr Konstantin Frank. Dr Frank was an immigrant from Ukraine who came to the US in 1951 and soon accepted a position at Cornel University where he developed the idea of growing noble European grapes in the United States. He was laughed at but to prove his point, he purchased land along Keuka Lake in 1958. He and his wife planted the grapes and in 1962 opened the winery. His Rieslings were a hit and today Riesling is the dominant grape in production in the Finger Lakes. Other stops today were Heron Hill and Herman J Wiemer.
