We finally picked up our new birdcage and Prince Gallatin State Park was chosen as the location of our shakedown cruise. Nice place, very typical of Pennsylvania state parks. Campground was open but not much going on yet except for a bit of maintenance work. We walked down to the beach and then on down to the dam.
The boys seemed to take to the new facilities pretty well. By the end of our first day they were on top of their cage preening up a storm, a sign that all is good and safe in their world.
The new bird cage worked just fine and looked good if not a bit lonely in the campground. It’s an Airstream Interstate. Seats seven and sleeps two. All systems checked out. We haven’t run the generator yet so that will have to wait.
The following two photos tell you that it’s sometimes important to look back to where you’ve been when walking in the woods. We came upon this fallen tree and it looked like it was just floating in front of us until the trail turned around a bend and then we looked back and saw the same tree at 90 degrees to our previous view. No, it is not touching the ground!
